Terms of service

What you are agreeing to. Clause 5 is the one people are surprised by, so it is written plainly.

[LEGAL ENTITY] · In effect from [DATE]

This is a draft and is not in force. It still has placeholders in it (entity, address, registration, email, privacyEmail, effective), and it has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Fill them in at lib/legal.ts and have every document here read before anyone is charged.

1.Who you are contracting with

These terms are between you and [LEGAL ENTITY], [REGISTERED ADDRESS] ([COMPANY NUMBER]). Using Little Staff means you accept them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you are confirming you may bind it.

2.What the service is

Little Staff lets you build agents: you write what an agent should do, give it tools and credentials, and it carries out tasks using a language model you choose. You can reach your agents in the browser, through Telegram, and through other agents.

3.Your account

Keep your sign-in secure, and tell us at [CONTACT EMAIL] if you think somebody else has reached your workspace. You are responsible for what the people you invite into a workspace do in it.

A workspace on a paid plan holds a number of people that the plan states. Inviting more than that is refused rather than charged for.

4.What you may not do with it

Do not use Little Staff to break the law, to send bulk unsolicited messages, to impersonate somebody, to work on material you have no right to, or to attack anyone, including us, our providers, or the services your agents can reach.

Do not try to get around the isolation the agents run in, the approval rules, or the limits your plan sets. We may suspend a workspace immediately if it is doing any of this and is causing harm while we ask about it.

5.Your agents act on your instructions

An agent does what you told it to do, and what it decides follows from that, from the tools you gave it and from the model you chose. It can be wrong. It can misread a page. It can be led somewhere by the content it was pointed at. You are responsible for what your agents do and for checking work before you rely on it.

This is why approval rules exist. An action you would not want taken without a person looking should be set to wait for one. Giving an agent a credential gives it the access that credential carries.

We do not review what your agents produce and we make no promise that it is correct, suitable, or fit for any particular purpose.

6.Paying for it

Two separate things. A plan is a monthly subscription that decides what your workspace can do and how many people share it. Credits pay for what your agents actually use, on every plan including the free one, and are bought in advance.

Plans renew monthly until cancelled and are charged in advance. Cancel at any time and it runs to the end of the period you have paid for. Prices exclude VAT and other local taxes, which are added where the law requires.

Credits do not expire and are not refundable once the usage has happened, because the model call has already been paid for on your behalf. Unused credits stay on your balance, including after a downgrade. If you close your workspace, unused credits are not refunded.

If you bring your own provider key, your provider bills you directly for those runs and we charge you nothing for them.

7.What belongs to whom

Your content stays yours. Your agents, their instructions, your skills and everything they produce belong to you. You give us permission to store and process it only so far as running the service needs.

The platform stays ours. Nothing here gives you rights over the software.

We do not train models on your content. Whether a provider you have chosen does is a matter of their terms, and the privacy policy names each one so you can check.

8.Availability

We try to keep the service running and we do not promise it will never be unavailable. There is no uptime commitment on the plans published on our pricing page. Maintenance, provider outages and faults happen, and we will tell you about serious ones.

9.Ending it

Stop whenever you like. Closing a workspace from Your Data stops your agents at once and deletes everything in it after thirty days, which you can undo during those thirty days.

We may end this agreement if you break these terms and do not put it right within a reasonable time of being asked, or immediately in the case of clause 4. If we end it without cause, we refund the unused part of your subscription.

Take a copy of your workspace before you go. The app will hand you one at any time, on any plan.

10.Liability

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited.

Otherwise, and as far as the law permits, neither of us is liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or indirect or consequential loss; and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose.

Read that together with clause 5. If an agent does something costly because of how it was instructed, what it was allowed to reach, or what a model decided, that is not something we are liable for.

11.Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. If a change matters we will tell you in the app at least thirty days beforehand, and continuing to use the service after it takes effect means you accept it. If you would rather not, close your workspace and we will refund the unused part of your subscription.

12.Law

The law of Germany governs these terms, and its courts hear any dispute. Consumer rights that the law gives you where you live are not affected by this. Write to us at [CONTACT EMAIL] first; most things are quicker to fix that way.
